There is a small fee to visit the church tower. Powerboats are banned from the lake so to get to the island you can either rent a row boat or take a wooden boat called a pletna to the island. The Pletnas hold 20 people and run all year round, this is the easiest way to get to the island.

The area near to Lake Bled is a wonderful place to visit during the autumn months to see the autumnal foliage. Lake Bled is fantastic for walks around the lake and into the nearby countryside. The forest that surrounds the lake starts to get very colourful throughout October. It was particularly beautiful during the sunset.
